There is a small moment that often gets missed.
Something happens in the body.
A thought appears.
A feeling moves through.
And almost immediately, we do something about it.
We explain it.
We try to fix it.
We push it away.
We look for a reason.
We distract ourselves.
We decide what it means.
Sometimes that is useful.
But what happens if, just for a moment, you don’t?
Pause is a very small experiment.
It is not a meditation you have to do correctly.
It is not something to improve about yourself.
It is not a test of how calm or conscious you can become.
It is simply a moment to notice.
You can enter through three little doors:
Body — What is your body telling you right now?
Maybe there is tension, warmth, energy, stillness, or ease.
Mind — What is your mind doing?
Planning, replaying, judging, solving, wandering.
Emotion — What are you feeling?
Perhaps something open, tight, warm, heavy, unsettled, or calm.
A little door inward.
I made Pause because sometimes a tool doesn’t need to give you more information.
Sometimes it can simply give you a little space.
There is no account.
No score.
No progress bar.
No achievement waiting at the end.
You can notice something and leave it there.
And if something feels worth remembering, you can write a short note for yourself. The note stays only on your own device.
Nothing needs to happen after that.
Or perhaps something does.
But you don’t have to decide that yet.
Noticing is different from fixing.
There is something interesting about simply noticing without immediately trying to change it.
A tight shoulder can simply be a tight shoulder.
A busy mind can simply be busy.
An uncomfortable feeling doesn’t necessarily need a name before it can be felt.
For a few moments, you can let whatever is here be here.
Before you change anything, notice what is here.
Much love,
Felicia.
